Why I Use, Coach, and Teach Energy Leadership

What is your Go to Energy Level? A very high level overview of the Energy Leadership Model, what is your level of consciousness?

In the U.S. it’s that time of year when parents are getting ready to send their kids back to school. Children anxiously awaiting who their teachers will be, parents back to school shopping, and getting ready for the change are all top of mind.

Along with the new school year comes new knowledge and learning. As an adult I’ve quite enjoyed the latter. You could say I’m a life long learner, and the subjects I study are diverse.

Now that being said, one of the areas I definitely gravitate to is why people do what they do. In other words, what makes people tick. And I am all about root cause, whether it’s a process, an organizational issue, or a person’s behavior. So when I came across Energy Leadership in 2009 it had my attention.

Why did Energy Leadership Catch my Attention?

It:

  • Gets to the root cause of our and others’ actions / behaviors

    • I finally had an answer as to:

      • What was driving me to feel anxious or angry at times, that goes deeper than the situation at hand, as many times the situation was simply a trigger

      • Why after I recognized a behavior pattern was unhealthy, and had decided I wanted it to change, many times I fell short in being able to shift the behavior

  • Helped me see why I was unable to get through to stakeholders at times and what to do differently going forward so I could reach them, and be a much more effective change agent and communicator

    • Whether it was a partner or family member I was trying to influence, or someone at work

  • Was a clear path on how to sustainably bring more peace, joy, happiness, and wisdom into my life, and lower the drama, conflict, and frustration I had been experiencing

  • Gave me a concrete tool to overcome fear which I found much more helpful than just “feeling the fear and doing it anyways”

    • The latter can work, and, I found this strategy could take a lot out of me, vs. I found utilizing Energy Leadership was a gentler process and left me with a lot more energy

  • Excited me as this was the first tool I had come across that could raise a person’s consciousness / awareness much faster than meditation

    • Increasing consciousness is a passion area of mine ever since I realized in 2001 how many people are essentially “sleepwalking” through their lives

      • In other words, they are unaware of what is going on in their mind, what is driving them to do what they do, how they’re being perceived by others, etc. and its this lack of awareness that brings a lot of suffering in the world

What Impact Has Energy leadership Had on my Own Life?

Wow, where do I begin..I:

  • Enjoy a heck of a lot more peace, calm, joy, happiness, and wisdom than in 2009

    • And because of this I am able to get a heck of a lot more done than I was able to then

  • Am:

    • Much more successful at influencing stakeholders than I was before Energy Leadership

    • A lot more patient with people, way less judgmental, and have a lot more understanding and empathy than I used to

    • Confident in myself in being able to do the below which is definitely something I was unable to say at the start of 2009:

      • Identify the root of any negative feelings that come up for me

      • Constructively express the feelings in a healthy way

      • If I desire to, address the root cause and sustainably shift the feelings to more pleasant ones

  • Have a completely different, healthier communication dynamic with people when there is a disagreement, which is much more enjoyable than the approach I had been taking previously in relationships

  • Found it dramatically increased the number of people coming to me for help, advice, and support

    • I typically was someone people would open up to and tell things they’ve never told anyone else, and, this went to a whole other level as people began to trust me even more

  • Ask for help and support more than I used to, and factor myself into the equation more

These are just some of them, there are certainly more.

What Benefits Has Energy Leadership Brought Others, Both at Work and in Their Personal Lives?

People who learn and consistently use the Energy Leadership Framework have reported:

  • Receiving promotions, being more productive at work, and improved work relationships

  • Going from heading towards a divorce to saving their marriage

  • Finding new confidence in themselves, responding better to challenges, and growing their businesses

  • Improved communication, boundaries, relationships, self-esteem, life-work balance, and more

Why do I Continue to Use Energy Leadership, and now Coach and Teach Others on it?
